Today, Indians represent the second largest U.S. The pace of arrivals from India and other non-European countries in subsequent decades has been rapid. Large-scale Indian immigration to the United States is relatively recent, following the move by Congress in 1965 to abolish national-origin quotas that largely limited immigration to Europeans.
